In tandem with #BandcampFriday, slashsound is giving all proceeds of their latest mixtape to Equal Sound's Corona Relief Fund*.

slashsound1.2 is a snapshot in time of sounds from the living rooms and local hard drives from the beginning of the COVID-19 era. All proceeds from slashsound1.2 will go—via Equal Sound's Corona Relief Fund—to assist artists who now find themselves in a financial strain as a result of total cultural closures.
As everyone holds down in their shelters for an uncertain future, recorded music takes on a renewed role as a source of comfort and familiarity, and an opportunity to escape into imaginary landscapes outside our corporeal home. So we tapped our community from around the city and beyond to contribute an offering in the form of this compilation; freshly mastered tracks, live recordings, sample libraries and bedroom improvisations, for everyone who imagines a change of scenery.
Dearest friends and listeners,
During this time of social distancing and quarantine, slashsound will give all its proceeds to the Artist Relief Tree, a charity aiming to assist artists who have been put out of work as a result of the widespread cultural closures caused by covid19. It’s time for everyone with something or time to give to do our part for the community, and as a modest purveyor of left-field digital sound, this is one way we can put those assets to work.
Friday is an especially great day to look into any of our releases you’ve been meaning to check out, as Bandcamp will waive its revenue share fees, so all of your purchase will go directly to artists and friends caught in this unprecedented bind.
Finally – we’re working on compiling a mixtape of unreleased tracks, new tracks, and vaulted live recordings from our community of sound-making friends. With about a dozen commitments thus far, we feel ok announcing this now. We’ll post the mixtape for preorder soon as a pay-what-you-can model, and all proceeds now and forever from this mixtape will go towards ART or a similar artist support fund.
